Colourful Fireworks
Bonfire night is this weekend, a night I loved as a child and still do, wrapped up in layers, eating toffee apples, watching above in awe. Dark skies light up, beautiful shapes are formed, colours are vibrant and everything seems to sparkle. For those moments everyone is silent watching the display above us. It may only be one night a year so here are some other ways we can all have a bit of colourful sparkle on a more regular basis, I won't say no. Enjoy! X

September Loves ...
Summer is gradually fading away an Autumn is falling upon us, the slight warmth of Summer still lingers as the ink of the night sky gradually appears and as the seasons change, September brings about many new chapters.
New adventures are under way as school years begin, pencils are sharpened, blank notebooks are opened, uniforms are pressed , friendships are blossomed and made.
Autumn/Winter wardrobes are being re-modelled, chunky knits I simply love, Winter boots I look forward to breaking in, Jewel tones I can't wait to explore. Chanel metallic nail varnishes I can't wait to wear, perfecting the use of Mac 'Brave Red' lipstick an the eyeliner I have finally cracked. London Fashion Week sets the capital alive and opens our eyes to the creativity, talent and beauty that we will soon be gazing at in the editions of Vogue.
Recipe pages are book marked on homemade thick crusty breads, pipping hot chunky soups, apple & cinnamon cake. Stacks of books have been collated from the classics, to bestsellers ready to be discovered on the perfect Sunday afternoon with a cup of milky tea. X

Colourful Nails
I always remember reading an article in Vogue about 7 years ago an it has always stuck with me. It was saying how you can go out without a scrap of make up or in your comfy 'not so fashionable' clothes but if you have your nails manicured or polished it shows that you look after yourself and how you present yourself. Plus as well I always see it as another accessory it can bring colour to any outfit an Summer is a great time to use fabulous colours. This weekend I painted mine a lovely bright colour thanks to Jessica, but here are some other options that I love. Enjoy! X

July Loves...
Middle of summer here we are already, oh how you have creeped up on us...Warm, lazy weekends spent peacefully reading classic books. Bright, pink lipstick to add a splash of colour to your summer pallet. First glimpses of pre-fall collections, oh those Mulberry dresses & bags i want you all. On the look for the perfect jewlerry to go with that classic crisp white sundress. Messy buns or perfect waves the perfect hair mix for summer when its too warm to do anything too perfect, just go with it. The navy blazer has been purchased to wear with the pink chinos, an ideal summer outfit that i love. The enjoyment of bright warm evenings in a beer garden catching up with friend after work, its not the weekend but it feels like one. New music is being discovererd and loved as the summer festivals have kicked off. Waking up in crisp white sheets to the sight of a blue sky.

Silver
> Having a silver dilemma today! As organised as I am, I am being super organised for my friend's wedding this weekend. With a dress rehearsal today I decided on silver shoes so now had to get a silver bag and that's my dilemma, no bag! I do usually tend to go for gold over silver but I do have silver pieces, just not a bag so the hunt is on and therefore today's theme with silver on the brain is you guessed it silver! Enjoy, hope you've had a lovely start to your week X

April Loves ....
April is here which can only mean the clocks have gone back, the dark nights of Winter are starting to fade out and the longer Summer nights begin.
I love that in April everyone starts opening up their Spring/Summer wardrobe and it gradually starts making an appearance, although we are not quite there the signs are starting to show. Nail polish and lipsticks are turning from Winters pale palette to the bold block colours. April see people now sitting outside Cafe's and Restaurants catching any rays of sun they can, sunglasses are being taken out of their cases and making a return as a regular accessory. Holiday shopping begins, eyeing up potential purchases for that vacation. Daffodils as a permanent feature are scattered around my room, blogging or reading in the conservatory in the warmth of the sun and bike rides along the prom bringing colour to our cheeks. Fresh fruit salads, strawberries and cream become a regular dessert. Waking up in my fresh white linen and new cushions as the April sun makes its early morning appearance.

Chanel Spring Make Up
Are you still wearing the same makeup that you wore last winter? Spring is here and there are some great new colors to check out and Chanel is one brand whose makeup collection for 2011 has definitely caught my eye. Les Perles de Chanel is a really gorgeous mix of shimmering peachy, pink and green shades with a little bit of iridescent greeny black pearl thrown in the mix.
Pearls and Chanel go hand-in-hand and Peter Phillips, the Global Creative Director of Chanel Makeup has used the iridescent reflections of pearls as inspiration to design the fresh and radiant Les Perles de Chanel Spring 2011 Makeup Collection.
The one thing I always really look forward to is the nail polish collection from all of the new Chanel makeup collection I always seem to find one or two colours that I love and will wear all Spring/Summer. There are 3 Le Vernis nail polishes in the Chanel Spring Makeup collection, Pearl Drop, Pêche Nacrée and Black Pearl.
Chanel Ombrés Perlées de Chanel eyeshadow compact has the most delicate and shimmering colours in its classic compact black little box. It hold 5 beautiful iridescent eyeshadows for the Spring Les Perles de Chanel makeup collection. The 5 colours to choose from can be worn as a simple look in the day or mixed together for a more drastic effect of an evening.
There are four new shades of lipstick for the Chanel Les Perles de Chanel Spring makeup collection and I think in Summer have a delicate pale colour on your lips against sun shimmered skin is so refreshing in the warmer months.
- Flamboyante – a shimmery rosy red lipstick
- Coquete – a vivid pink lipstick
- Jersey Rose – a pink lipstick that flatters all skin tones
- Peregrina – a delicate coral lipstick
So what do you think? I personally am in love with the whole collection especially the lipsticks, i think the whole range that has been put together is perfectly ideal for Spring/Summer. It it wearable for all users and no matter if you go for simple or drastic I don't think you can go wrong with Les Perles de Chanel.

GELeration
I had a little beauty afternoon this weekend & one of the treatments that I eventually got round to having done was Jessica's gel nails also know as GELeration. This is an exciting, brand new, soft gel system which allows you to experience wonderful manicure techniques with amazing long lasting colour.
I love having my nails kept neat & painted I think it makes you look clean & people can tell a lot from your hands. I remember being in my first year of University & reading a copy of Vogue an there was a quote in there from the editor saying that you can pop to the shops with no make up on & in your oldest tracksuit but if you have a manicure & your nails are done it makes a complete difference to how you are perceived by people, something that has always stuck with me.
A bonus about GELeration is that they are easy to soak off and will preserve the natural nail underneath, something that has always put me of having anything done to my nails before is that they will weaken my own nails, but Jessica have put an end to that & it makes such a difference. My GELeration treatment began with cuticle work, tiding of the nails, application of gel finished with cuticle oil and hand massage which was lovely. Jessica have launched a variety of different colours for you to choose from & good thing is come Spring a new line of pastel bright colour is getting launched. I decided I wanted a red colour so I opted to go for Dynamic which I love especially with us gradually getting closer to Spring it is a happy & bright colour to look at each day.
GELeration's gel formula delivers a long lasting (hopefully 3 weeks,) flawless finish that's dry in seconds with the help of a little heater you have to put your hand in after each coat and protects the natural nail. The good news as well is that you can also have this treatment on your toes, so come summer you can wear your sandal's without having to give your toes a quick paint. All round then I have to say so far I am very pleased with my GELeration manicure & come summer will be trying the new colours out.
