My Award
On Monday Amy over at Brushed Satin and Brittany at Swirls of Happy passed on the Stylish Blogger award to me and it made me smile all day!
I love both ladies blog's and am a daily visitor to catch up on their posts. Amy was one of the first blogs that I discovered and instantly loved, she does her own thing and follows her own rules making her posts a must read. swirls of Happy author Brittany has a cosy homely blog that you cant help but love as she shares pictures of her family and posts on all sorts of goody posts from fashion to interior. Go check out both blogs you will fall in love with them.
Part of receiving the award is that there are a few rules to follow, you have to link back to the lovely blogger that nominated you, share 7 things about yourself (and trust me it is not as easy as it sounds) and finally I have to nominate 10 other bloggers.
1.I am a big bookworm, love nothing more than snuggling up with a good book plus I read so fast so on holiday I overload worried I am going to run out, I have been pulled up for my case being over weight. Love girly fiction, historical fiction and a good mystery.
2.I am a TV junkie especially American shows I cant help but love them. Gossip Girl makes me want to live in New York and the fashion amazing. The Vampire Diaries, there is something aboout the mystery that is so intriguing and Glee, well enough said.
3.If I could have a gift it would be the ability to draw, I confess I am awful at it.I did Art at school an got a very high mark but I did every other form of Art imaginable, worst module was still life it was a nightmare. When I see fashion illustrations etc I am so envious (bad I know) but I would love the gift to do it.
4.Love all things British, Afternoon Tea, Football, Tower of London, Tudor's, Full English Breakfast, Red Buses and Country Pubs.
5.I work as a Buyer for Card, Gifbag and Giftwrap company and I love it. I never have the same day I just feel so lucky to have found a job I love at such a young age.
6.I am terrified of Sharks and Whales absolutely petrified. When in the sea on holiday although I know they are not in the surrounding water my clear mind gets blurred and I am convinced that they are underneath all the water. I wont jump in if there is seaweed underneath because I think they might appear, crazy I know but I cant help it.
7. I am double jointed.

New York Street Fashion
"We all get dressed for Bill" says Anna Wintour in the forthcoming documentary about legendary street style photographer Bill Cunningham. He has famously been documenting the fashions found on New York Streets for the last 50 years. With a battered Nikon camera, he goes everywhere on his bike, snapping anything that catches his eye, documenting he most fashionable, daring and exciting people he could find.
From aspiring fashionistas to Upper East side's Queen bee's, to street gangs, punks & even downtown transvestites- if there is something to be said about what someone is wearing in their day to day life then you an guarantee that Cunningham will snap them.
Now 50 years into his career he has become the subject of a new documentary which celebrates his career and his body of work which the producers say "is more reliable than any catwalk as an expression of time, place & individual flair." Featuring cameos from some of New York City's most glorious inhabitants including Anna Wintour, Tom Wolfe & David Rockefeller, Bill Cunningham's New York is definitely a documentary of art not to be missed.
I've watched the trailer about 4 times now and each time I have to pause it to study some of the outfits that have been snapped giving me a tease of what I can expect in the documentary and I truly can't wait. After the whirlwind of fashion shows that we have been audience too the last couple of weeks its refreshing to watch this documentary and see our very own fashion shows on the streets of New York.
"The main thing I love about street photography is that you find the answers you don't see at the fashion shows... If you just cover the designers in the shows, that's only one facet. You also need the street and the evening hours. If you cover the three things, you have the full picture of what people are wearing," Cunningham has said.
