This weekend is an extra long one for me with 4 glorolious festive days free an it couldn't come at a better time! Time to catch up with friend enjoying festive treats watching classic holiday films that never get old. Christmas afternoon tea to exchange beautifully wrapped gifts an pamper time with some red glittered nails to add extra sparkle. Winding down baking some gingerbread as delicious treat. It is finally here the last part of Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows and I am super super excited. As you might know by now am a book lover an I grew up with Harry Potter my grandad bought me the first one when I was 11 an I was instantly hooked! You can't help but get caught up in this magical world that I wished I was part of. All my copies of HP have been taken on all my holidays growing up an read multiple times an now the last chapter is finally here.
The films really are amazing but I always think never as good as when you imagined it when you were getting caught up between the pages. If any of you are going to watch it I hope you have a great time an a lovely weekend! X
The weather here this weekend was in one word dreadful, we simply had Winter in May for a full two days and there seems to be no sign of it stopping. So on Sunday afternoon I curled up with my Ipad and spent some time on Apple Movie Trailers, its my secret love! One of my best friends got me on to it in school and every couple of weeks I go on and watch all the new trailers of films that will coming out in the next couple of months and I can easily spend a good hour watching them.
So on Sunday I gave a slight burst of delight when I came across a film traier of one of my favourite books, 'One Day.' I read this book by David Nicholls at the start of the year after a friend recommended it an the guy in my local bookstore persuaded me to get it an I loved it instantly.
15th July 1988,Emma (Anne Hathaway) and Dexter (Jim Sturgess) meet for the first time on the night of their graduation. Tomorrow they must go their separate ways. I love watching fashion documentaries and have previously blogged about this. There is just something about the creativity and excitement of this art form that gets my pulse slightly racing and there was no exception when I discovered the 100 minute film of the French fashion legend, Yves Saint Laurent’s, somber life story.
Exploring his great love affair with businessman/life partner Pierre Berge. They were romantically involved for almost 20 years after meeting in 1958, and though Berge chose to move out of their shared home in Paris (he moved one block away) they remained daily companions until the end of Saint Laurent's life. After Saint Laurent died in 2008, Bergé decided to sell their incredible collection of artwork, furniture and objects in what became one of the greatest auctions in art history. The film juxtaposes Bergé telling the story of building their 50-year relationship at the same time it shows their collection being dismantled by appraisers, dealers and art movers.

Known for contributing trouser suits, car coats and the safari look to fashion but also about his battle with drugs, alcohol and depression that although is well publicised you will find that "L'Amour Fou" provides intimate personal insight from the one who knew him best.
For you fashion fans you may not find it as lively as 'The September Issue' or as grand as 'Valentino: The Last Emperor' however overall this film is a must-see.
With all the attention that fashion house Dior have had on them in the past couple of weeks it was their long anticipated arrival of the Dior Addict lipstick advert featuring iconic supermodel Kate Moss that grabbed everyone's attention.
The advert is an epic 90 seconds long and was directed by Jonas Akerlund who has collaborated with artists such as Lady Gaga and Britney Spears. Kate is featured in a Parisian hotel getting ready to make an appearance at Paris Fashion Week, applying the lipstick in her room and again in the back of a vintage car on her way to the Dior S/S 11 show. She is looking glamorous as always with her tousled hair, Dior sunglasses perched upon her nose and of course wearing Dior Addict (colour 596.)
"We all get dressed for Bill" says Anna Wintour in the forthcoming documentary about legendary street style photographer Bill Cunningham. He has famously been documenting the fashions found on New York Streets for the last 50 years. With a battered Nikon camera, he goes everywhere on his bike, snapping anything that catches his eye, documenting he most fashionable, daring and exciting people he could find.
From aspiring fashionistas to Upper East side's Queen bee's, to street gangs, punks & even downtown transvestites- if there is something to be said about what someone is wearing in their day to day life then you an guarantee that Cunningham will snap them.
Now 50 years into his career he has become the subject of a new documentary which celebrates his career and his body of work which the producers say "is more reliable than any catwalk as an expression of time, place & individual flair." Featuring cameos from some of New York City's most glorious inhabitants including Anna Wintour, Tom Wolfe & David Rockefeller, Bill Cunningham's New York is definitely a documentary of art not to be missed.
I've watched the trailer about 4 times now and each time I have to pause it to study some of the outfits that have been snapped giving me a tease of what I can expect in the documentary and I truly can't wait. After the whirlwind of fashion shows that we have been audience too the last couple of weeks its refreshing to watch this documentary and see our very own fashion shows on the streets of New York.
"The main thing I love about street photography is that you find the answers you don't see at the fashion shows... If you just cover the designers in the shows, that's only one facet. You also need the street and the evening hours. If you cover the three things, you have the full picture of what people are wearing," Cunningham has said.
